I purchased a custom chopper from this company Boostedhorsepower.com (a.k.a Warlordcustomchoppers.com) This custom chopper was described to me from the company owner and manufacture, to be new in condition and to be problem free. I purchased this chopper in November 2005 for $20,000 dollars paid in full. Upon receiving this chopper I had all sorts of problems. The front brake was not working, the gas tank was cracked, the steering locks were broken, the bike would not start, coil no good, battery draining down everyday, just completely unreliable. I live in San Francisco so I had this motorcycle shipped to me from Ohio, so I didnt get a chance to inspect it. One week later after my purchased from this company the website was removed. So before this company takes advantage of anyone else - BEWARE!

I dunno man - I'm sorry about your loss, but 20 grand for a maxed out custom sounds like "too good a deal" to be true - and it looks like it was. I would never buy a bike that I couldn't see in person unless it was a bone-stock harley, because you know the dealer has to service those no matter where you bought it. Too many two-man "chopper shops" are springing up all over the country, you know the quality of some fo these just has to suck. The things you describe sound like pretty easy fixes - if you spend another grand ot two getting things working good, it still sounds like a smokin' deal to me with all the 30, 40, 50 grand chops around.

I have found the best way to know exactly whats done to my bike... is to do it myself. I know that we don't have alot of time or knowledge to work on our own stuff and paying someone to do it is much easier and alot quicker and finding someone we can trust to do it is pretty tough, especially now since there are so many more bike builders and shops to choose from. I don't think there used to be this many when I started riding in 1990. I know a few mechanics from past experience I know I can trust to do what I don't have the tools to do. This system hasn't done me wrong in the past 17 years! It's about finding the right people and word of mouth works best coming from someone you know and trust to begin with.
