Yes - it's better to have an engine than to not have an engine.

wondering if there is anything as for as generator goes to turn to new age on this bike. other than that it runs great and hard very awsome bike and trying to sale before deploying agian. please help a soldier out if anyone is interested in a very very clean ole school bike.

I had a 73 sporter if its still around email me. stamperfloorcover@comcast.net. The answer to your problem is buy a generator. Are check your bushings, and wiring leads to the generator to a breaker. If you don't have breakers take the bike in you could have slight power override issues.

Ummm, my first thought would be you better bring your checkbook - that's all the high dollar stuff. Big fun if you can afford it. I'd say you're looking in the $10,000 range wiht that stuff. I mean, just an S&S mid-sized motor will set you back 8 large. These folks think us poor shadetree builders are made outta money. There is some stuff call Ultima that is sould outta the Mid-West line (Jireh cycles and those kinda guys) where you can find 124 inchers on eBay for about $4500. Rumor has it they won't explode, and I'm planning on using one for my next build. I've got a panhead setup for sale here http://www.choppersrule.com/for_sale/panhead.htm where you get almost the whole bike for 5 large but you'll need some small parts..

Leave your checkbook home and build yourself a Hondachopper. The '69-'78 SOHC CB750's are cheap, easy, and go for a long time.I've got a total of $260.00 into mine http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h184/5150Sasquatch/Yeti%20ready/Yeti.jpg,not counting replacing the battery last year, and the rear tire this year.Been riding it for 4 years now with minimal maintenance,Did have to replace one of the coils this year.Found one at the Vallejo swap meet for $5.00.........
Only bikers know why dogs hang thier heads out the car window
