If I use a 3.5" x 16" rim with a 140/90 rear tire on an 99 OEM type softail frame can I still use a 1.5 inch rear pully and belt or will the tire rub the belt? If so,will I have to change both the belt and pulley to a 1.25 width?

for a lot of this stuff you have to go old fashioned and break out the tape measure. look at the clearance on a stock bike with a 130 tire. i've seen some fit alright with a 140 and some not. shops seem to give the same answer.

let us know what you find.
