I recently bought a used chopper. When I got it home I discovered the socket head screws holding the "sprotor" sprocket/rotor had backed out machining a notch out of the caliper bracket. The question is should I use some red thread locker and screw it down or should it be redrilled and tapped a size bigger or must the wheel hub be replaced?

it depends-

if it just backed out, red loctite it and call it a day. look at the threads and see if they got damaged. then you'll know what you're dealing with.
