So I bought this custom hardtail frame on craigslist and the guy didnt really kno what kind of motor the mounts are for he just said v-twin. It has the frame ID numbers on the neck but i dont know how to translate them. How can I find out what kind of motor can be used.

Your best bet is to call V-Twin with the numbers and I am sure they can help you figure our what you have.
