1st chopper build what size engine would be best for a 1st bike too??

hey im thinking about building my own chopper but it will be my 1st bike i got the idea from my uncle who has been riding choppers since god knows when... im thinking about engine size with it being my 1st bike i am only 18 and doing a welding course and motorcycle engineering.. can anyone advise me on what size engine i should use?? thank you all thoughts and opions welcome

IF IT WERE ME I'D START WITH A SPORTY ENGINE , PARTS ARE USALLY CHEAPER YOU CAN BUILD A LIGHTER BIKE AND WITH THE HARLEY MOTOR YOUR NOT DUMPING A BUNCH OF CASH INTO A BIKE THAT MAYBE HARD TO SELL DOWN THE LINE , AND AT 18 YOU PROBABLY WIEGH WHAT 125LBS THAT ENGINE/BIKE WILL BE WAY FAST WITH YOU ON IT
