When I press the starter button on my bike, I often get a 'clanging of metal' like it is not engaging.  I fix this by hand cranking the primary drive just a bit.  This typically fixes the problem and it starts right up.  Is this normal/abnormal?  Will this cause problems or is it an indicator of something wrong?  Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
